Bioethanol production in Germany grows 21% Y/Y in H1 2012 - BDBe

Aug 23, 2012 - The production of bioethanol in Germany rose by 21% on the year to around 295,000 tonnes in the first six months of 2012, German Bioethanol Industry Association (BDBe) announced on Wednesday.

A total of 178,025 tonnes of the generated production came from feed grain, while another 116,652 tonnes of bioethanol were produced from industrial sugar beet.

A total of 102,827 hectares of arable land were used for the production of bioethanol in Germany during the first half of 2012, which represents a total of 0.86% of the arable land in the country, BDBe said.
