UK biomethane producer Agrivert has unveiled the acquisition of local solar PV and battery storage solutions provider Chiltern Solar Limited, broadening its renewable energy product offering.

The business was acquired for an undisclosed amount from its founders, Steve and Julie Gamston, according to a statement from Friday.

Chesham, Buckinghamshire-based Chiltern Solar Limited has made more than 1,000 installations over the past five years. The company is also active in electric vehicle (EV) charge points and energy-saving devices.

Agrivert specialises in the design, construction and operation of anaerobic digestion facilities that process food and agricultural wastes and energy crops. It also installs and maintains solar PV for commercial, agricultural and domestic clients in the UK.

“Expanding Agrivert’s capabilities into other forms of renewable energy is an important next step for the group as we continue to grow. This acquisition allows us to widen our customer base but also enables us to bring new solutions,” said CEO Phil Earl.
