IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CEST(ADPnews) - Apr 29, 2011 - Black Hills Power, a unit of US utility Black Hills Corp (NYSE:BKH), has filed for a declaratory ruling from the utilities watchdog for a 20-MW wind farm in South Dakota.
The company asked the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission to confirm that the proposed farm is reasonable and cost effective compared to other renewable electricity sources.
The USD-38-million (EUR 25.6m) project would be the first wind farm in western South Dakota, Black Hills Power vice president Chuck Loomis said.
Black Hills Power expects the project to help it meet the state's requirements for 10% of all electricity sold be from renewable, recycled and conserved energy sources by 2015.
