Sep 05, 2024 9:51 CESTTaiwanese printed circuit board (PCB) maker Unimicron Technology Corp (TPE:3037) has contracted Bloom Energy Corp (NYSE:BE) to install up to 10 MW of its solid oxide fuel-cell based Energy Servers at company-owned plants.
Bloom said in a statement that this is the fourth Asian country where the company will have energy platforms installed. Work on the project is to begin this year and be completed by 2026.

“Bloom’s fuel-flexible platform can fill Unimicron’s needs today, with fuels that are available now, and they can transition to renewable fuels and hydrogen as those sources become more widely available,” said Tim Schweikert, Senior Managing Director, International Business Development, Bloom Energy.
Bloom’s energy platform generates electricity using a variety of fuels without relying on combustion. It can be configured to establish a microgrid operating either independently or alongside a power grid, the company says.
