Australia puts green tick on 300-MW solar project in Queensland
Sep 20, 2024 6:04 CESTBolivia's President Evo Morales, together with local authorities, switched on 24 MW of wind capacity with the inauguration of the second phase of the Qollpana wind farm.
The event took place last week in the municipality of Pocona, Cochabamba department. Empresa Electrica Corani SA, part of state-owned Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (Ende), is the company in charge of the project.
The second phase consists of eight wind turbines and represented an investment of around USD 54 million (EUR 48.10m), funded by the Fund for the Industrial Revolution Productive, or FINPRO.
In total, the park has now a capacity of 27 MW, as 24 MW was added to the 3 MW of the pilot phase. The plan is to reach 51 MW in three phases, president Morales said.
Bolivia has a goal of producing 540 MW of clean energy by 2020 as well as making Cochabamba an energy hub in Latin America.
