In all, the three projects require USD 192.8 million (EUR 181.6m) in investments, of which USD 113.3 million will come from Danesa, USD 15.8 million are a donation from the Danish government, and the remaining USD 63.6 million will come from Bolivia's National Electricity Company (ENDE), the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Luis Sanchez, said on Tuesday.
Located in the Santa Cruz department, the projects include one 21-MW plant and two 36-MW parks in Warnes, El Dorado and San Julián, respectively. When complete, they will help offset 142,500 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year.
The projects will boost the share of renewable energy in the Bolivian energy mix, and help the country meet the growing power demand from households and the industry sector, added the minister.
