Bosnia's Federation government said it has approved plans to take out a 72 million euro ($84.9 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and German development bank KfW to finance the construction of the Vlasic wind farm.

The final decision on the loan will be adopted after the negotiations with the creditors are completed, with the investor, power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR], as the end user, the government said in a statement on Thursday.

The wind farm which should be built on the Vlasic plateau, in central Bosnia, will have an output capacity of up to 50 MW, EPBiH said.

EPBiH is the biggest of Bosnia’s three power utilities. It employs 4,349 people and has a total installed capacity of 1,682 MW.

The Federation is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
