Bosnia's Federation net electricity output falls 33% y/y in May energy, power, consumption, power grid, electricity

Bosnia's Federation net electricity output fell to 436 GWh in May, from 647 GWh in the same month last year, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.

Electricity imports plummeted to 56 GWh in May from 355 GWh a year earlier, while exports dropped to 94 GWh from 245 GWh, the Federation's statistical office said in a statement.

The net electricity output of hydro power plants decreased to 88 GWh last month, from 410 GWh in May 2019, while the output of thermal power plants rose to 348 GWh from 237 GWh.

On a monthly comparison basis, the net electricity output in May amounted to 436 GWh, lower than April's 497 GWh.

Month-on-month, the Federation's electricity imports soared 93% in May, while exports plummeted 64%.

The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
