Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe environment ministry of Bosnia's Federation said it has received requests by local company Sarajevo International to conduct preliminary environmental impact assessments (EIA) for two planned hydro power plants (HPPs) on the Bosna river, near Sarajevo.
The Podlugovi HPP of projected installed capacity of 3.82 MW will generate 18.15 GWh of energy per year, whereas the Ljubinici HPP is planned to have an installed capacity of 4.26 MW and will generate 18.75 GWh per year, the ministry said in two separate notices last week.
The public can examine the requests and submit an opinion within 30 days from their announcement.
The Sarajevo Canton in 2020 awarded a 30-year concession contracts to Sarajevo International to build and run the two HPPs worth 30 million marka ($16.8 million/15.3 million euro) combined, according to an earlier statement by the cantonal government.
The Sarajevo Canton is one of 10 cantons making up the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
