Brazil Centre-South ethanol output grows 3.99% Y/Y to Feb 15, 2013

Mar 14, 2013 - The ethanol output of Brazil's largest sugar cane producing region Centre-South climbed 3.99% year-on-year to 21.362 billion litres (5.643bn gallons) in the period between April 1, 2012, and February 15, 2013.
Hydrous ethanol output came in at 12.548 billion litres, down 4.04% in annual terms, data of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) showed yesterday.
This fall, however, was offset by anhydrous ethanol volumes, which swelled by 18.05% to 8.814 billion litres.
The crushed sugar cane from the season's start to February 15 totalled 532.54 million tonnes, registering a hike of 7.99% on the year, UNICA said.
The current crop year, which started on April 1, 2012, will officially end on March 31, 2013.
