Brazil adds 1.2 GW of renewable capacity in Oct 2024
Nov 07, 2024 10:33 CESTSep 23, 2014 - Brazilian electricity sector watchdog Aneel gave the thumbs-up to the test operation of 13 turbines, of 2.35 MW each, at the EOL Modelo I wind farm, owned by Italy's Enel Green Power (BIT:EGPW).
The authorisation is valid for turbines UG1 to UG 13. The facility is located in Brazil's Joao Camara municipality, in the northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte.
Also, the regulator allowed the test operation of 11 turbines, each with a capacity of 2.35 MW, at Enel Green Power's EOL Modelo II wind plant located in the same municipality.
Aneel will decide whether to authorise the units' commercial operation only after the completion of the test phase.
