Brazil ethanol consumption jumps 25.4% Y/Y in Nov 2013

Dec 12, 2013 - Brazil's ethanol consumption increased by 25.4% year-on-year to 690.8 million litres (151.9m gallons) in November 2013, data of the national union of fuel distributors Sindicom showed.

When compared to October 2013, it was a slight increase of 0.74%.

Between January and November 2013, Sindicom's members, which account for 60% of Brazil's ethanol market, sold 6.362 billion litres of ethanol, versus 5.2 billion litres in the same period last year.

As for the sales of petrol (gasoline) of Sindicom's members, they saw a 8.4% annual rise to 2.651 billion litres in November. In the 11 months to November, petrol sales inched up 7.8% in annual terms to 27.7 billion litres.
