Ambev said that Engie’s agreement is tied to the 212.6-MW Conjunto Eolico Trairi wind farm, while 2W Energia’s deal concerns the 260.4-MW Kairos wind park. Both plants are located in Ceara state. Neoenergia’s contract is linked to the 566.5-MW Oitis wind power complex, spread over the states of Bahia and Piaui.
The brewer has a goal of having renewable sources meet 100% of its power demand by 2025 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Rodrigo Figueiredo, VP Procurement & Sustainability at Ambev, stated that the company is also building solar plants at its distribution centres.
In all, Ambev's industrial structure includes 28 breweries and soft drink production facilities, two malting plants, as well as aluminium can, glass and cork stopper sites.
