Brazil's Piaui govt clears operations for 300-MW wind park
Sep 12, 2024 9:29 CESTMar 28, 2014 - Brazilian energy sector watchdog Aneel received a registration request for the 18.9-MW wind power plant EOL Alcacuz and its adjacent transmission system, according to a decree published in the State Gazette yesterday.
The plant is located in the Igapora municipality, northeastern Bahia state. It is owned by local firm Centrais Eolicas Itapua X Ltda.
The plant's owner will operate the facility as an independent power producer (IPP). As such it will be able to sell its surplus energy and distribute energy to large consumers, paying concessionaires for the use of transmission lines.
