Brazil's Piaui govt clears operations for 300-MW wind park
Sep 12, 2024 9:29 CESTMar 28, 2014 - Brazilian energy sector regulator Aneel received a registration request for the 6-MW wind power plant EOL Embirucu, according to a decree published in the State Gazette yesterday.
The request includes the facility's adjacent transmission system. The plant is located in the Igapora municipality, northeastern Bahia state. It is owned by local firm Centrais Eolicas Itapua XII Ltda.
If Aneel approves the request, the plant's owner will operate the facility as an independent power producer (IPP) and it will be able to sell its surplus energy and distribute energy to large consumers, paying concessionaires for the use of transmission lines.
