Brazil's Northeast may license over 100 MW renewable capacity

May 23, 2013 - Brazilian energy sector watchdog Aneel has received requests for licence of over 100 MW renewable energy capacity in the northeastern region of the country.
Two solar plants, of 30 MW each, are planned to be installed in the Gentio do Ouro municipality. The plants are dubbed Lagoa de Itaparica 1 and 2 and the registered request includes also their transmission systems.
Also, a request for operation as independent producer was filed by the wind farms Pedra Cheirosa I and II, located in Itarema municipality Ceara state, of 26 MW and 24 MW, respectively.
