World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTBrazil's Paraiba state announced on Friday it will develop an atlas of the state’s solar irradiation in partnership with Sao Paulo’s research, development and innovation management centre CGPDI.
The creation of the document should last one year and will cost about BRL 1.14 million (USD 203,000/EUR 179,000).
This interactive atlas will be available on the website of the Secretariat for Infrastructure, Water Resources and the Environment (Seirhma). It will be published in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
The executive secretary of energy, Robson Barbosa, said that the mapping of the energy resource and the most promising regions, as well as transmission line, road and rail infrastructure, in addition to socio-environmental and legal restrictions, is fundamental when it comes to determining the viable potential.
