Brazil's RZK Energia partners up with Matrix for 38 MWp of DG solar Small solar system in Brazil. Author: Tony Winston/AgĂȘncia BrasĂlia.

Brazilian power company RZK Energia announced that it recently entered into its first agreement with peer Matrix Energia to construct around 38 MWp of distributed generation (DG) solar power plants.

RZK said the bundle will consist of 11 projects and require a total investment of BRL 140 million (USD 24.7m/EUR 22.5m).

No specific location was mentioned for the plants, only that they will be strategically distributed.

Rafael Moreira, Business Development Director at Matrix Energia, believes that this partnership reinforces the company's commitment to renewable energy and opens up new prospects for democratising the national energy market and boosting the use of DG projects.

RZK Energia currently has 220 MW of installed solar PV and biogas capacity, including plants in operation and under construction. The firm noted it is targeting the 340-MWp mark.
