Brazilian electrical equipment manufacturer WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) announced earlier this week that it has been awarded a contract by domestic energy firm Kroma Energia to build a 250-MWp solar complex in Ceara state.

Valued at BRL 630 million (USD 112m/EUR 101.5m), the scope of the work includes the supply of photovoltaic modules, trackers, inverters, a power substation and connection activities.

Named Arapua, the PV park is expected to start commercial operation in the first quarter of 2026 in Vale do Jaguaribe, Jaguaruana municipality. It has an estimated annual production of 537 GWh.
