OMV Petrom hires EPC contractor for 89-MW solar project in Romania
Nov 12, 2024 7:19 CESTBulgaria, Croatia and Romania have met in 2015 their target share of energy from renewable sources in gross final consumption of energy, as set out in the Europe 2020 strategy, the European Commission said on Tuesday.
The other EU member state from Southeast Europe – Slovenia, had a 22% share of renewables in gross final consumption, still some way off its 25% target for 2020, the Commission said in a statement.
In 2015, Croatia posted a 29% share of renewable energy, exceeding its 2020 target by 9%.
Bulgaria exceeded its 16% target by 2.2%, while Romania posted a 24.8% share of renewables, 0.8% above its target.
The average share of renewable energy in final consumption in the EU stood at 16.7%.
