Bulgaria hits early 2020 renewables target – Eurostat

SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 10 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria has already achieved its 2020 target of 16% for the share of energy from renewable sources, data released by the EU’s statistics office on Monday showed.

Energy from renewable sources accounted for 16.3% of gross final energy consumption in Bulgaria in 2012, Eurostat figures showed.

Following are details about the share of energy from renewable resources in the power consumption of EU member states in Southeast Europe (in % of gross final energy consumption):
