SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 26 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] said its consolidated pre-tax profit rose by 20.1% to 6.95 million levs ($3.9 million/3.6 million euro) in the first two months of 2015.

Consolidated net sales revenues fell 5.6% to 42.1 million levs in the January-February period, MonBat said on Wednesday in a bourse filing.

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to 8.7 million levs through February, up by 8.9%.

In February alone, MonBat posted a consolidated pre-tax profit of 2.7 million levs, an increase by 4.0% on the year, while its consolidated sales revenues were down by 14.6% to 18.4 million levs. The company's consolidated EBITDA decreased by 4.9% to 3.5 million levs last month.

MonBat operates four plants for manufacturing and recycling of lead-acid batteries, diodes and light-emitting diode luminaires.
