SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 25 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] said on Thursday its consolidated pre-tax profit rose by 27.7% to 12.9 million levs ($7.4 million/6.6 million euro) in the first five months of 2015.

Consolidated net sales revenues rose 12.2% to 97.8 million levs in the January-May period, MonBat said in a press release.

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to 18.0 million levs through May, up by 15%.

In May alone, MonBat posted a consolidated pre-tax profit of 1.8 million levs, while its consolidated sales revenues were up by 23.3% to 16.5 million levs. The company's consolidated EBITDA increased by 1.8% to 2.8 million levs last month.

MonBat operates four plants for manufacturing and recycling of lead-acid batteries, diodes and light-emitting diode luminaires.
