SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 26 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] said on Monday its consolidated pre-tax profit rose by 5.7% over the year to 30.3 million levs ($17.4 million/15.5 million euro) in 2014.

Consolidated net sales revenues fell 3.9% to 229.9 million levs last year compared to a year earlier, MonBat said in a bourse filing.

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to nearly 44 million levs in 2014, up by 2.1% from 2013.

In December alone, MonBat posted a consolidated pre-tax profit of nearly 4 million levs, a jump of 128.7% year-on-year, while its consolidated sales revenues increased by 5.5% over the year to 21.9 million levs. The company's consolidated EBITDA went up 76.4% to 5.4 million levs last month.

MonBat operates four plants for manufacturing and recycling of lead-acid batteries, diodes and light-emitting diode luminaires.
