Bulgarian car maker MonBat 9-mo cons pre-tax profit grows

SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 27 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] said on Monday its consolidated pre-tax profit rose by 13.3% to 20.3 million levs ($13.2 million/10.4 million euro) in the first nine months of 2014.

Consolidated net sales declined by 7.5% to 159.1 million levs in January-September while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 5.0% to 30.3 million levs, MonBat said in a press notice.

In September alone, the company posted a consolidated pre-tax profit of 3.8 million levs, up by 33.2% on the year, while EBITDA increase by 9.8% to 4.9 million levs. Consolidated net sales rose by 10.8% over the year to over 21 million levs last month.

MonBat operates four plants for manufacturing and recycling of lead-acid batteries, diodes and light-emitting diode luminaires.
