Bulgarian Interservice Uzunovi to develop EUR 32m solar project - report

(ADPnews) – May 11, 2011 - Bulgarian furniture and household appliances importer Interservice Uzunovi plans to develop a EUR-32-million (USD 46m) solar power project by the end of June 2012, Bulgarian daily Pari reported yesterday.

The project features the installation of solar panels on car parks and rooftops, Pari quoted the company’s executive director Krasimir Uzunov as saying. He did not disclose the planned capacity.

Last month US photovoltaic (PV) systems provider Solyndra Inc said it had contracted Interservice Uzunovi to build a 1-MW rooftop solar system in Bulgaria.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement, the solar division of Interservice Uzunovi will install 6,000 Solyndra solar panels on the roofs of Bulgarian transport company Biomet Co Ltd, based in Sevlievo, northern Bulgaria. The facility is expected to be connected to the grid by the middle of the year.
