Bulgarian share indices end mostly lower, turnover jumps

SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 17 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian stock indices ended mostly lower on Wednesday as turnover on the regulated market jumped, bourse data indicated.

The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), fell 0.40% to 550.72 points after decreasing 0.45% in the previous session.

The broader BGBX40, which includes the 40 most traded shares, lost 0.62% to 109.83 points after rising 0.11% on Tuesday.

Turnover on the regulated market jumped to 7.4 million levs ($4.9 million/3.8 million euro) from 947,400 levs on Tuesday on the back of a rise in the bonds segment..

Car battery producer MonBat [BUL:5MB] was the top SOFIX gainer, going up 2.62% to 8.785 levs as 109 shares changed hands.

Tobacco producer Bulgartabac Holding [BUL: 57B] was the worst blue-chip decliner, ending 6.00% lower at 47.00 levs in a volume of 15 shares.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, ended up 0.30% to 98.72 points after falling 0.07% in the previous session.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.67% to 428.48 points after edging up 0.58% on Tuesday.
