Sep 05, 2024 12:07 CESTYettel Bulgaria and CETIN Bulgaria, both part of the PPF Telecom Group, today announced the signing of an off-take contract with Electrohold Trade under which they will buy electricity from a 123-MW solar power plant.
The two telecommunications companies have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA), which will allow them to cover nearly all of their electricity demand with renewable energy. Apart from saying that it will be completed this spring, the parties did not give more details about the solar project tied to the contract.

“The deal is one of the first in Bulgaria for a period of 10 years at freely negotiated prices and shows the beginning of a new market trend in line with the green transition,” said Karel Kral, CEO of Electrohold Bulgaria. The Electrohold Group is owned by public holding company Eurohold Bulgaria (BUL:EUBG).
In turn, Electrohold Trade’s executive director Atanas Dimov stated that the company has developed a solution specifically for green-minded industrial and corporate clients looking to be independent of volatile fuel prices.
