Bulgaria's NEK opens tender for new turbines at pumped storage plant
Sep 18, 2024 13:50 CESTSOFIA (Bulgaria), October 16 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Bobov Dol has applied for an integrated permit for operating a combustion installation for electricity and a hydrogen installation, Bulgaria's Execution Environment Agency (ExEA) said.
The TPP intends to operate a combustion installation with a nominal thermal power of over 50 megawatts (MW), ExEA said on Wednesday in a statement on its website.
It also plans to run chemical installations for the production of basic chemicals, the statement showed.
Bobov Dol, established in 2000, is a coal-fired power plant in the Kyustendil region, in southwestern Bulgaria, with an installed capacity of 630 megawatts. In 2009, Bulgaria sold the TPP to local consortium Energy MK.
