Bulgaria's state-owned National Electricity Company, NEK, has opened a 5 million euro ($5.9 million) tender for the rehabilitation of hydro power plant (HPP) Vacha, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Monday.

The project will require procurement of activities such as design, manufacture, delivery, installation, supervision, setting, testing and commissioning of a new 110 kV high voltage equipment, EBRD said in a statement.

Part of the contract will be financed with proceeds of a grant from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the EBRD.

Procurement is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2018.
