Bulgaria's NEK opens tender for new turbines at pumped storage plant
Sep 18, 2024 13:50 CESTBulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court has overturned a grid access fee for renewable energy plants introduced by the country's power regulator in September 2012.
The decision of the Supreme Administrative Court, published on Monday, upheld a ruling passed by a lower court.
The court said that the energy regulator had failed to provide evidence to justify the introduction of the grid access fees. The methodology used for the calculation of the fees was not clear either, according to the ruling.
Renewable energy plants had to allocate between 2.0% and 40% of revenues for the payment of the grid connection fee, newspaper Capital Daily reported on Tuesday.
