French inspection and certification services group Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI) is advancing its strategy to expand its expertise in the renewables sector, announcing today the acquisition of Golden, Colorado-based ArcVera Renewables.

ArcVera is focused on finance-grade consulting and technical services for wind, solar and battery storage projects across the world. It assists customers during both the development and the operational stages of utility-scale projects. The business generated revenues of EUR 6.5 million (USD 7.17m) in 2023.

Since its founding in 2017, the US firm has supported 9 GW of solar projects in North and South America and has evaluated projects representing 93,000 MW of wind capacity in the US. Its portfolio includes schemes such as the 54-MW Ventus wind farm, the first in El Salvador.

“This acquisition will expand Bureau Veritas’s capabilities, primarily in North America, to support landowners, developers and owners and investors in delivering their wind and solar farm projects,” the French firm said in a press statement.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
