Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTBurkina Faso this week inaugurated a solar panel factory with an annual production capacity of between 80 MW and 120 MW.
The West African nation’s first such plant can make between 60 and 100 solar modules per day, with individual outputs starting from 260 W to more than 330 W. It is located in the industrial zone of Kossodo and is owned and run by Faso Energy. The total cost of the project is around XOF 3 billion (USD 5.3m/EUR 4.6m).
According to energy minister Bachir Ismael Ouedraogo, who was quoted by AFP, the local production of solar modules will support the construction of 16 solar parks totalling 250 MW.
Burkina Faso has set a goal of meeting 30% of its electricity needs with solar power by 2030.
