World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTSep 12, 2013 - German companies are still assessing negatively the energy transition in the country, the latest data of energy agency Dena shows.
In the third quarter of 2013, the so-called Energiewende Index (DEX) reached 94.4 points on a scale from 0 to 200, up only 0.2 points from last quarter, Dena said this Tuesday.
Dena and the accounting and advisory company Ernst & Young issue the DEX every quarter after surveying the opinions of around 200 companies, cities and organisations affected by the energy transition in Germany.
According to the results, around 90% from the surveyed companies want the Renewable Energy Act to be reformed after the elections.
In addition, the majority of the polled companies share the opinion that Germany needs a new market design but only 50% consider the establishment of an Energy ministry for necessary.
Sentiment towards security of supply has improved slightly but the majority of the polled call for larger investments in the grid expansion.
