IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTDenmark-based offshore wind installation company Cadeler A/S (OSL:CADLR) said it has taken delivery of the fifth addition to its fleet from the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (COSCO) shipyard in Qidong, China.
The new vessel, Wind Peak, is Cadeler’s first P-class jack-up installation vessel, which is now set to begin commercial operations. Cadeler says the P-class vessels are pushing industry boundaries in every way, capable of transporting and installing seven complete 15-MW turbine sets or five sets of 20-MW-plus turbines per load.
Wind Peak is the first of seven new builds Cadeler has under contract. Its sister vessel, Wind Pace, is currently under construction and is planned for delivery by the COSCO shipyard to Cadeler in the second quarter of 2025.
"Our customers are constantly pushing the boundaries in terms of size and complexity of the wind turbines being installed offshore. As a trusted supplier to the industry, our success is a measure of our ability to cater to these changing needs both now and in the future,” commented Cadeler CEO Mikkel Gleerup.
