California produces 210.6 GWh renewable power on May 3

Renewable power generation in California, excluding large hydro, rose to 210,562 MWh on May 3 from 205,698 MWh in the previous day, according to data by the California Independent System Operator Corp (ISO).

The wind power output for the day stood at 62,525 MWh, a 20.90% decrease. Solar photovoltaic (PV) parks produced a total of 94,797 MWh, compared to 77,617 MWh on May 2. In addition, solar thermal power plants generated 5,549 MWh.

California also produced 22,562 MWh geothermal power.

Under the California Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) plan investor-owned utilities, electric service providers and community choice aggregators in the state have to reach a 33% renewable energy share in total procurement by 2020.
