California produces 220.5 GWh green power on March 20

California’s renewable power generation on March 20, excluding large hydro, jumped to 220,490 MWh from 166,567 MWh a day earlier after wind farms doubled their output.

Statistics by the California Independent System Operator Corp (ISO) show a 107% day-on-day rise in wind power production to 105,677 MWh.

There was also a slight increase in solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation to 75,425 MWh from the previous day's 73,370 MWh.

Solar thermal power plants added 802 MWh to the solar total, down by 78.96% from March 19.

Small hydropower plants (SHPPs) generated 3,806 MWh and California also produced a total of 23,761 MWh of geothermal power.
