A unit of Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has been selected to build three battery energy storage systems in the province of Nova Scotia with a combined direct-current (DC) capacity of 150 MW/705 MWh.

The contract was signed by e-STORAGE with Nova Scotia Power. It envisages engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services along with long-term service agreements (LTSA), a press statement said today.

The energy storage sites will be located in Bridgewater, Waverley and White Rock. The first BESS is expected to be operational in 2025, while completion of the whole project is anticipated by the end of 2026.

Part of Canadian Solar’s majority-owned subsidiary CSI Solar Co Ltd, e-STORAGE has shipped more than 5 GWh of BESS solutions across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific markets.
