Canadian independent power producer Capstone Infrastructure Corporation (TSX:CSE.PR.A) and its partner Sawridge First Nation on Tuesday marked the commissioning of four wind farms in the province of Alberta with a combined capacity of 61 MW.

The Buffalo Atlee 1, 2, 3 and 4 sites are located about five kilometers (3.1 mi) east of the hamlet of Jenner. They will now generate enough electricity to power about 26,000 homes annually, eliminating around 93,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

The output of two of the plants -- Buffalo Atlee 2 and 4, has been contracted under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gibson Energy Inc (TSX:GEI).
