Singapore lines up 1.4 GW of solar imports from Indonesia, ups goal
Sep 06, 2024 12:53 CESTApr 5, 2012 - US microturbine energy system maker Capstone Turbine Corp (NASDAQ:CPST) said Wednesday it had won a deal to supply one C1000 microturbine for a combined heat and power (CHP) biogas power project in Singapore.
The contract, which came from local egg farm N&N Agriculture Pte Ltd, comes to further expand Capstone's foothold on the Asia Pacific market, it said. The turbine will be part of a biogas-fired power system, with the biogas being produced through the anaerobic digestion of animal waste. The farm will use the electrical output to supply six large climate controlled layer houses and two grower houses, while the produced heat will dry spent grain used for chicken feed.
The order was secured by Capstone's distributor for Asia Pacific -- Sobono Energy. The latter is to supply the unit and commission it this summer.
