Private equity major Carlyle (NASDAQ:CG) on Tuesday launched a new European renewables development platform, named Telis Energy, that will aim to have a project pipeline of more than 10 GW in place by 2030.

The London-based platform will develop renewable energy projects, focusing on solar, in the UK, France, Spain and Germany, and potentially expand to other European markets.

“The launch of Telis demonstrates Carlyle’s confidence in Europe’s renewables sector and the significant role it will play in our broader infrastructure strategy,” said Pooja Goyal, chief investment officer of Carlyle's Infrastructure Group.

Telis will be led by industry veteran Adrien Pinsard.

Its creation comes after Carlyle last year launched US renewable development platform Copia Power, which now has over 16 GW under development and is set to start building over 1 GW of projects in 2023.
