Kibo Energy seeks to buy 20-GW renewables pipeline in Europe, Africa
Sep 16, 2024 17:21 CESTUS company Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) will soon start selling in the Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America a turnkey photovoltaic (PV) solar solution for remote microgrids using panells made by First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR).
The construction machinery maker and the solar energy major announced on Thursday a strategic alliance to develop the integrated solution for use at mine sites, small communities and for other microgrid applications.
As part of the plan, First Solar will design and manufacture a pre-engineered turnkey package, featuring Cat-branded PV panels and balance of system components. Caterpillar will sell and support the integrated solution via its worldwide Cat dealer network.
Asia Pacific, Africa, and Latin America are expected to be the first markets targeted for the integrated PV solution. Caterpillar plans to start selling it there in the second half of this year.
