Vestas secures 194 MW of orders in Germany
Nov 13, 2024 15:53 CESTS4 Energy BV, a Dutch grid-scale energy storage developer and operator and a subsidiary of global merchant firm Castleton Commodities International (CCI), has agreed to acquire a 310-MW portfolio of shovel-ready and advanced battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany.
The schemes, which are expected to become operational between 2026 and 2028, will be purchased from local battery developer Terra One Climate Solutions GmbH. Financial details were not disclosed.
The German deal comes a couple of weeks after S4 Energy took over a 6-GW BESS pipeline in the Netherlands from UK renewable energy company Low Carbon.
S4 Energy has 60 MWh of operational and under-construction battery assets and a pipeline of 1,050 MWh in development, according to its website.
At the end of October, the company took over LC Energy Grid Services (LCEGS), a Dutch company specialising in high-voltage battery storage systems with a portfolio of projects which includes four medium-voltage, four-hour duration systems in the country, all scheduled to go online in 2025.
