Centrotherm International AG (FRA:CTNK) announced a contract to deliver thermal production equipment for US solar cell manufacturer Suniva Inc’s project to expand and restart its factory in Norcross, Georgia.

Centrotherm, which had already partnered with Suniva in the past, has now been selected to supply the last of a total of three system packages for the production line, the German company said in a statement on Monday.

Suniva announced the plan for production restart and capacity expansion in Norcross in October 2023. The project will be realised in two stages, with the first envisaging a manufacturing capacity of 1 GW, while the second targeting 2.5 GW. The manufacturing process is expected to start by spring.
