CEZ mulls selling 600 MW wind park in Romania

Czech energy group CEZ is considering selling its 600 megawatt (MW) Fantanele-Cogealac wind park in Romania, the company said.

"We are in the process of analysing the market in order to identify the investment interest, objectively taking into consideration the assessment of the investment for our shareholders," CEZ confirmed for SeeNews in an emailed statement earlier this week.

Fantanele-Cogealac, in southeastern Romania, is the largest onshore wind park in Europe. The output of the 240 wind turbines at wind park rose 29% on the year to 1.25 terawatt hours last year, in its first calendar year of full operation.

The Czech energy group acquired the project to build the Fantanele-Cogealac wind farm from Continental Wind Partners LLC in 2008 and has invested a total of 1.1 billion euro ($1.5 billion) in its development.
