Texas-based energy company Dynegy is to supply with 100% renewable power the Willis Tower in Chicago under a multi-year partnership.

As part of the agreement, Dynegy will supply the 110-story skyscraper, owned by Blackstone's (NYSE:BX) EQ Office, with wind power via renewable energy credits.

Willis Tower is currently undergoing a big restoration as part of a USD-500-million (EUR 429m) project, including energy, sustainability and comfort upgrades. The skyscraper was awarded the US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) platinum certification.

"Our partnership with Dynegy is one of the many ways we're continuing our commitment to co-creating sustainable experiences in and around Willis Tower, and we're proud to further EQ's mission of making smart, green choices that improve the space around us," senior vice president David Moore commented.
