Chile-based diversified business group JR Ortiz said it has finalised its first solar photovoltaic project in Peru, installing 100 MWp.

Located in the town of Mollendo, Arequipa region, JR Ortiz’s solar farm is the third-largest renewable energy facility in the country, according to the group.

The plant has recently been connected and it is set to generate enough electricity power approximately 62,000 homes, JR Ortiz stated.

As a renewable energy promoter, JR Ortiz is active in Chile, Colombia and now Peru. The company says it has built 1 GW of renewables -- all solar -- in Latin America, which, with the US and Europe, is one of its key growth regions.
