Chilean renewables developer Lader Energy has secured an environmental permit for a 200-MW/246.1-MWp solar photovoltaic project in Colombia.

Colombian environmental licensing authority ANLA said on Thursday it had granted its licence to the Puertos de Santander solar park project promoted by Lader Energy's vehicle Andes Solar III SAS in the department of Santander, north-central Colombia.

The project will see the installation of 403,375 solar modules at a site in the Cimitarra municipality.

The ANLA says it has so far issued environmental licences for 25 non-conventional renewable energy projects in the country, including the one from Lader Energy. These projects, 18 of them solar and seven wind, will add 5,161 MW of generation capacity to the national power mix and contribute to the national government’s goal of reaching 6 GW of non-conventional renewables by the end of its term.
