China Machinery Engineering Corp (HKG:1829), or CMEC, yesterday announced it has secured a USD-345-million (EUR 305.7m) contract to build a solar park of 230 MWp in the Borikhamxay Province of Laos.

The company has been selected for the role of general contractor by Souliyapon Intertrade Co Ltd. CMEC will be in charge of the photovoltaic (PV) power plant’s design, supply, civil engineering and construction, installation, commissioning and other works.

Certain conditions precedent need to be met for the contract to become effective, the engineering company noted.

Construction of the park is expected to take two years.
