IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTChina Three Gorges Corp (CTG) is developing a 45-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project on top of chicken farms in Guangze County, Fujian province, the company announced.
The scheme involves the installation of 11 distributed solar power systems on the roofs of as many poultry farms. Once up and running, they will have the combined capacity to generate about 45 million kWh of electricity, which corresponds to a reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by around 37,900 tonnes.
CTG noted that the solar arrays will not only energise the chicken farms and local residents but also feed the grid with the excess output.
